Abstract
In this issue brief we will discuss the uninsured in Indiana. Those who live without health insurance are more likely to neglect preventive care, experience poorer health, die prematurely, and face excessive medical debt, all of which impact the state’s economy. But additionally, experts say that large numbers of uninsured actually drive up the cost of care for those who are insured, so high rates of affect all of us, not just the uninsured.
