University LibraryThe project goals and objectives of the study were to: 1. Query a select number of foundation leaders to explore their problems, plans and current vision in knowledge management and to determine what range of solutions would be optimal to them. 2. Identify existing technology options for knowledge management and establish solution alternatives that could meet the needs of the foundation community. 3. Review relevant legal issues, including copyright. Review issues of long-term preservation and archiving and to make recommendations for managing those issues. 4. Review cost requirements and revenue options and propose one or more economic models for a foundation knowledge management structure. 5. Propose a plan of action to address the needs of foundations to organize, provide access to, archive, and preserve the knowledge that is created as the result of their operations.
