    A Partnership for Full Employment
(Welfare Policy Center of the Hudson Institute, 2006-06-23) Hein, Jay; Grossenbach, Fred
In today's U.S. economy, two interesting realities co-exist. First, Americans are experiencing a sustained period of low employment. Second, there are over two million low-income adults who will be required to leave welfare and find a job within the next five years. At first blush, the coincidence of these realities appear to be quite serendipitous. Employers need workers while local public assistance agencies need to find work for their caseload. But making the connection between the two interests is more complicated than it appears, requiring improved public-private collaboration to make it successful.
